Designed for select 2kVA to 3kVA Eaton 9PX UPS systems, this external battery module uses Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) battery technology and features a versatile 2U rackmount/tower design. It is built for mission-critical IT applications where additional UPS runtime is required, including server rooms, networking environments, medical applications, light industrial systems and automation infrastructure.

Extend the Runtime of Compatible Eaton 9PX UPS Systems

The 9PXEBM72RT connects to compatible expandable Eaton 9PX UPS systems to provide additional battery runtime. This allows critical servers, network equipment and other supported infrastructure to remain powered longer during an outage than with the UPS internal batteries alone.

Daisy-Chain Up to Four Battery Modules

For applications requiring longer battery operation, Eaton allows the 9PXEBM72RT to be daisy-chained with up to four matching battery packs. This provides businesses with the flexibility to build an extended-runtime UPS configuration around their application and backup-time requirements.

Eaton ABM Battery Management Technology

The 9PXEBM72RT incorporates Eaton ABM technology. According to Eaton, its three-stage charging technology can extend battery service life by up to 50% while providing advance warning when battery replacement is required.

Rackmount or Tower Installation

The external battery module occupies 2U of rack space and can be installed in a standard 19-inch 4-post equipment rack using the included mounting hardware. For installations without a rack, the included support stands allow the unit to be configured in a tower orientation. Compatible 2-post rack installation is also available using the optional Eaton RK2PC rail kit.

Hot-Swappable, User-Replaceable Batteries

The battery system is designed with hot-swappable, user-replaceable batteries to simplify long-term maintenance. Eaton specifies that the 9PXEBM72RT requires two replacement battery cartridges, with replacement cartridge 744-A3121 identified in the product documentation.
